Get out of the digital cloud.

The original article was written by Vicki Freed who is SVP of Sales at Royal Caribbean.  I thought it was a great little article and so true ....

Ever since the first, building-sized computer was powered up, we've been told technology was going to make life easier. And it certainly has — it's hard to remember how we communicated before email, cell phones and the internet.

But it's also made the pace of our everyday lives more hectic than ever. It used to be that we lived one life — our real selves. Now we have a our digital selves, too. And with so many of us wired in via smart phones and laptops 24/7, it's all too easy to lose touch with those real-life, interpersonal connections.

That's why my role is more important than ever. In a society where so many are latched to a screen and hesitant to even use vacation days, we are more than a travel agent — we're a digital extractor. We dewire clients and show them how to live for real moments again, rather than frantically clicking, posting, texting.

Cruising is the best way to bring people out of the digital cloud and back down to earth (or should I say, sea). For families especially, it's a chance to reconnect in all those ways that we're losing sight of on land. Sitting down to dinner each night. Going mini golfing or ice skating. Seeing a Broadway show or 3D movie— all together as one.

Happy Cruising!
