Real or Fake?

Do you think these pictures have been altered via Photoshop?

They have NOT been altered!  These are actual photos from Maho Beach in St. Maarten.   Because of the short runways of the Princess Juliana International Airport, planes have to fly in at a lower altitude in order to make a safe landing.  Having been to the island a number of times we have not been able to experience actually being on the beach during a landing or take off.   If you are there during a take off you will need to be careful of the jet exhaust as it will send the sand flying!

St Maarten is a very unique island and two countries each call it home, one side is Dutch and the other French.   Marigot is a great town to visit on the French side with lots of boutiques and a European feel.  Also do not forget to visit the famous Orient Beach (clothing optional) with it's calm and crystal blue waters.

Happy Cruising!
