A few years ago in a prior life I made a friendly bet with a co-worker that I could convince him that taking a 7 Night Caribbean cruise would be cheaper than a long weekend in New York. "You have got to be kidding me" he barked. He originally doubted my numbers so the next day I brought in some hard copies to back up my data. "I guess I owe you a lunch ... you should sell cruises!" he conceded. A fore shadowing of things to come. So when comparing any vacation be sure to include all possible costs. You might be surprised that the option you thought was cheaper ends up being more expensive.
